My vision I've been carrying in silence? I've shared with a few friends. I want to create a birthing center for low income, BIPOC, and generally underserved populations similar to that of Jennie Joseph's birthing center in Florida. I want it to be more community and less health care as we know it in the States. I want peer support folks, nutritionists, doulas, yoga teachers, art and movement therapists in addition to the midwives, OB's and nurses. I have no idea how to make it happen.
I appreciate you sharing this! That’s a beautiful vision to carry, and I think talking about publicly and often will probably attract the community that can help bring it to life.
I really really want to build this too. Not just my annual corn planting but a tree that has matured because I gave it my coffee grounds and carrot peelings. It's just a townhouse but I have soil. I have ground. I have a patch of mycelium that is connected to the entire earth and when I reach out and touch these plants I'm part of it all. The world doesn't need more users, it needs planters.
I basically want the same thing- something stable to grow into. first that was my art and creativity, then it was my marriage, and now we want a little bit of space to live a little bit differently too. I want a garden from which to make art and a life, even if it doesn't outlast me (not having kids) and even if it isn't the land my grandparents wanted and tended for me (complicated story). I want a home
I dream of building a Sun room/winter-garden connected to my house for two purposes: to add warmth to a cold place of my house in winter(I live in Denmark🇩🇰) AND to have more tropical fruit trees(asian mangos and bananas).
I love how you write about the land. It is a joy to read about the care and love you have for the land. I have no doubt that you will fulfill your vision, that is clear to me.
My vision is adapting and morphing and becoming more defined. For the longest time I've been called to the mountains. It's hard to admit that Florida has become a heavy weight for me. And I recognize that I take much of it for granted when I see it through the eyes of visiting friends. But still, my dream is building a retreat. I've been calling it a center, but after reading this, I think I want to call it a retreat preserve, because my intention is to reconnect people to nature, grow my own food, and provide healing, grounding energy to all who come.
There's so much more to it. Right now, I'm waiting for it to reveal itself to me. In the meantime, I visit often, enjoying every mountain hike and discovering new flora.
Sometimes the direction we want to go into feels so exciting/overwhelming that speaking is scary, so writing is a good second option.
After a lifetime of believing my every creation should be functional, I'd like to embrace creating for the sake of creating. There's so much creativity wanting to pour out, I might open the dam and just let it flow... But what if I fail? I'll certainly fail if I don't give it a go.
A friend sent me this and it is exactly what I needed to hear. I want to build a business that is based on my life purpose and my gifts. One that nourishes me and those it touches.
I've been wanting a proper space for a winter garden for years. i'm finally redoing my beds to sturdier metal and taking the time to set the new ones up for 6b winters. another week of "spare time" and they'll be ready to plant.
i really enjoy your posts, btw, love the way you think!
That sounds awesome! I’ve been looking to add some metal beds to the front yard just to make it a little more presentable lol. We probably have to paint ours too. This Florida sun will make those things way too hot in the summer.
Thank you for reading, and for sharing the plans. I’d love to see some pics once you get it installed.

Truth. When you lay down roots and intend to occupy a space for the long term, you treat it differently.
You don’t make the cheap, disposable choices.
I appreciate you reading.
I appreciate you writing 💓

I can feel that!
One of my life philosophies is whatever you focus on expands.
The more energy you give it, the more aware you’ll be of opportunities you can capitalize on. Radical optimism is the way.
Thank you for reading, and for sharing your vision out loud.
thank you for making this space a home, too! 🙏🏻

Very much appreciated! I love the tropical winter garden idea.
Looking forward to hearing your progress updates.

Beautiful! I’m sure the roadmap will reveal itself as long as you keep focusing on it.
So many people are feeling this same magnetism right now. We need more spaces to heal and reconnect, the more the better!
Thank you for reading.
“What’s the thing you haven’t said out loud yet.”
I don’t know exactly, but after reading this essay, I’m not going to stop asking the question until an answer comes along.
This is the way!
Thanks for reading.
Speaking Things Into Existence is the Truth.

Creating for the sake of creating is medicine, and the only way to fail is by not doing.
I say let it flow! Thank you for reading.

Sounds like an excellent foundation for a business!
Thank you for reading, and please give my thanks whoever sent this to you.
